Forum: Food Intolerance

You will be choosing a food intolerance to research for this forum and also cook creatively around for your lab. 

For example, people who are lactose intolerant avoid milk in their cooking. Watch this video below for dairy-free alternatives for recipes that normally use milk.

Your job is to research and choose a specific food intolerance and then come up with a substitution for this ingredient in a recipe. You are expected to write in your OWN WORDS. If you are taking a direct quote or paraphrasing a source for part of your response, you must cite this source. You must provide the following information:

1. Define the food intolerance you have chosen. 

2. Choose a MAIN COURSE meal you would like to make that commonly includes the food-intolerance-causing ingredient.

3. Explain how you could change this recipe so someone with this food intolerance could safely eat it. What are you using as a substitute? How does it do the same job as the removed ingredient?

Your contributions to this online discussion should demonstrate a clear understanding of the topic and thoughtful reflection. Your submissions should be free of spelling and grammatical errors.
